Conclusion Questions

1. Discuss the anticipated sustainable and energy efficient characteristics for your proposed project.

Skylights are in place and will provide a great deal of solar gain during the winter as well as an abundance of natural light.  The primary use for the building will likely not require climate control for most of the year (with the exception of the office, kitchen, and locker room areas).

2. What part of the project proved to be the most difficult to complete? Why?

The calculations and codes proved most difficult to complete due to both abundance of unrelated information and lack of directions describing what is required.

3. Describe one improvement that you would incorporate if given sufficient time. Explain how it would make your project better.

We would greatly improve the accuracy and appeal of our Revit model.  We would further modify the topography and include more elements of landscaping and similar detail.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->1.    <!--[endif]-->Rainfall falls on most parcels of property throughout the world. Describe one method that could be used to collect this natural resource.

If the roof of your home is made of metal or non-asbestos/non toxic materials you could direct the water from the gutters into storage barrels. When one fills up you move the hose to the next one. The roof of a house will collect a great deal of water.

2.  Describe an innovative construction method or technique that benefits the environment.

material is compressed or tamped into place, usually with forms that create very flat vertical surfaces. Modern rammed earth typically utilizes heavy mechanized equipment to move and compress the material

3.   During the construction cycle of the building, materials and components are delivered to the site. List a strategy that you will use to recycle the waste produced during the construction phase.
Website:_________http://constructionwaste.sustainablesources.com/___________________________________________
send recyclable materials such as metals or plastics to a recycling plant and use any other left over material for artistic furniture for the house free of charge (excluding labor)

4.  Energy use is high in commercial buildings. What might a designer do to reduce energy consumption in a building?
lower heating costs
ductwork to move heated air can lose up to 60% of that air before it reaches the vents if the ducts are poorly connected, not well insulated and travel through unheated spaces such as the attic or crawlspace, says the government

5.   Building sites offer natural resources that can be utilized for the life of the building. Describe a method to use a site’s natural resources in the construction of the structure.

Conclusion

<!--[if !supportLists]-->1.    <!--[endif]-->Describe an original green and sustainable idea that you have. Choose one that is not currently in use as far as you know.
use left over materials in construction in the house as furniture

<!--[if !supportLists]-->2.    <!--[endif]-->Describe an improvement that you believe could be made to the building where you live. Describe why it is an improvement.
an AC unit would improve tho 90 degree + temp.
